My Royal Laptop!

Hi bloggie.. think my Compaq Presario C722TU is living it large! LOL. Poor Toshiba Satellite Pro M10, the ancestor gets nothing.Presario here gonna get new stuff!

i decided on Laptop Skin Decal (for the 1st time), which is awesomely nice and agreed by TING (1 Vote is all I need). and a mouse pad - which i scare i may not use it in the end because its so nice and i wan to keep it in mint condition (like the rest of my collectibles).

the frightening thing is.. tt's not all. I decided on this mouse (an A4Tech G7630), probably the red or yellow one. and i have done research and confirmed that I want an LCD monitor to enjoy the benefit of Dual Monitor. i looked some more (horrors!!!) and i am also getting a cooling pad for my laptop (after years with bottle caps). and probably a USB hub to keep all the things connected with Presario.

like i said, Presario is living it large = making my pocket very very small

agu

Edit: Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 did get something, which is also a A4Tech mouse that I am still using after 4 years! And an upgrade in ram!

Lucky Presario is going to get a ram upgrade as well. Maybe Windows 7 will crept in as well.

exams = temptation

hi bloggie... my final exams as a uni undergrad is happening in 2 weeks and i am so not liking it! exams means boring studying, and procrastination and not to mention, temptations!

was looking at so many "Wants", its not funny! and my pocket is at the suffering end! i just got new earphones, costing 3oSGD! my first expensive earphone. lol.. maybe $30 is not a lot, but i am a cheapskate when it comes to earphone. never spent more than $20 on my earphones. so ya, $30 is alot to me! =( and damages were already done on a $65 keyboard! haiz...

and, i was looking at clic sunglasses, notebook ram, and the windows 7 upgrade. and the never ending need of more hard disk. modify Wii cost, a monitor for my laptop, driving and the list goes on... goodness. where to find the money man! think will take many many months (translating years) to get what i WANT now. but, by then, the WANTS will change to even newer and more expensive stuff. hahaha.. the sucky thing is, these are WANTS. not NEEDS. the only justifiable reason to get them is because i WANT To, and not I need to. =(

maybe i can put a donation button, and everyone can donate some vitamin M to me, so I can finance these expensive wants. Or maybe a list, and see if any kind souls that loves me too much decide to buy the item off for me.

arrghh. need to shake this off and get back to books.

Something New, Something Old and Something Random

Hi bloggie... am procrastinating again! lol. The good thing about not doing assignment is learning photoshop (but i shld really be studying!).made new header! to fit the ending line of "coloured by agu at" at the end of every post.

i also added twitter to my blog. the concept of micro blogging is good for the spontaneous soul =)

the week had past well, went to sydney taronga zoo, saw the opera house, went to awesome beaches, have countless servings of ice cream and chocolate (Okay, maybe not so much), went to Star City (casino), and had the best Thai Tom Yam Fried Rice ever! the weekend getaway was really the desired break =) not to mention, fabulous housemates that made everything even better.

Tom Yam Fried Rice

The boys in town was fun to hang out with, and we went laser tag! not to mention my not so near neighbours and the trips to coffeehouse. (the other SYD pictures are in my Facebook)

iTunes

I am not a neat person by nature. but when i fell in love with the iPod touch when it launch, I know I must make full use of its potential. So, the project (project cover) begins, which is the finding album covers and naming each album properly to my best extent. That would mean the title and artist and album title has to be right. the rest is push off one side (there is simply too much). The hard work starts with having chinese title songs, and painstakingly renaming them into chinese words instead of hanyu pinyin.

but i am proud of myself. now finding the song is easy, playing it on my iPod or in iTunes is pleasing to the eye. hahaha, i guess i need to self praise myself to motivate the tired soul.

end of school break and start of the short days of school.

One of those days

Hi bloggie... it is one of those days, where u felt the whole world is against you, and you have nothing to defend yourself. Nothing significant happened to invoke such a feeling, perhaps a passing thought stayed longer than it was supposed to.

it is truly a walk to remember

Test, Assignment, Projects

Hi bloggie... got bored from looking at ASA and other related stuff of auditing. lol.. test is in a few hours, nothing is going into the head.

Tests, assignments and projects are flooding in. now kind of in the moment with all this deadlines that i need to catch my breath, but, when i am taking my break, i realise, these all are gonna end soon. kind of depressing at some point, yet kind of wanna get rid of them, pronto. contradicting feelings.

the bull, the pot and the Fish

hi bloggie... need to make my presence felt here, since my blog was rumored to be dead. but i reckon will die soon due to suffocation from assignment deadlines.

I had never drank red bull straight from a can. I only tasted red bull last year mixed together with vodka. this year, i drank red bull a couple times now to keep me awake to complete assignments, presentation and exams.

just pulled thru a horrifying presentation. the class was generally nice. still, i couldn't understand where my nerve went. glad that it is all over.

guess the Bulls will still be flooding in.. assignments are still in red. =(

recently had a pot luck at the Boy's house. so, we did cooking. there were 3 chef from our house, so the kitchen was smaller than it was! but the food turned out good and i learned how to play Bridge. Fun! Fun! Fun!

and, finally we had fish! fresh fish, not some fillet... i love fish, but seafood in newcastle is expensive. so dun really have the chance to eat them. found out about this fish market place that sells fresh fish. still not very cheap, but the fish is good =) miss eating crabs.

k, the entry is not written very well, cause i am procrastinating! lol.

Newy

hi bloggie.. i know it had been a while since i blogged. wanted to blog about the Great Au trip, but keep procrastinating..

well, i had a great trip with Siang, Cyndy and Peggy. from newy to canberra to brisbane, surfers paradise. so much fun. not gonna do a collage on photoshop on all the photos. photos can viewed on Facebook.
At Great height, People goes crazy
(Great Au trip Participants)

hmm, visited so many places, the mountains, museums, and the themeparks. I love exciting rides, and roller coaster! lol, the superman was awesome, but secretly i liked the scooby~doo one. coz of the backward falling of the coaster! awesome!

Batwing spaceshot!
(Movieworld)

so much fun thru' out the trip. definitely a good break for all of us!

the when i was back in newcastle, it was slacking ard with my sims, vampire and ross, rachel, monica, chandler, phoebe, and joey. lol, i was playing my sims 3, watching my date with a vampire 1, and FRIENDS season 1. hahaha, can tell how bored i was. hmm, bored isn't exactly a good word, shld be how free i am! lol..

Down the Beach
(Newy)

we took a bus, went to the beach, to the lighthouse, to Kiwi's, back to the bus stop and to charlestown! and we went to watch Harry on another occasion... I love Harry. have always been. the book harry. can't say the same for the movie harry. but to say the truth, i actually liked this one. comparing with the previous movies, it may not be true to the book (as usual), but it is a good summary in a way. to me, book and movie can never be the same. anyway, looking forward to the last 2 movie, since the funeral for the best wizard is due in the next movie. it is strange, where by i heard many negative review about the movie, and turns out many are book fan. but book fan are the ones that religiously turns up at the cinema.

What do you see
(National Day Dinner)

the dinner was a blessing in disguise. we didn't want to go. at least not initially. but at the end of the day, i was happy we went. we made new friends in Newy that are really a great bunch. now i can say i have more than 10 friends in Newy! to think all of us bond so fast. it was a pleasant surprise. after the dinner, we went for coffee and made plans for gathering! and we met up again the next day for movie, G.I. Joe! of coz, i enjoy it alot! hahaha, and we met again on wed for ice cream and drinks! gosh, and i am meeting this same crazy, fun and awesome bunch on sat for badminton. this is bad, they will make me miss newy more!

lol. by now, school already started. 4 modules this sem, a lighter load compared to previous sem. I think i will enjoy this sem more. i have a good feeling for the upcoming presentation, and essays.. i dunno y. maybe becoz this is the last sem. lots of thots surge for the last sem. toying with the thot of a double degree and work. Newy is starting to grow on me. i still miss SG. but, there is something about newcastle that i know i will miss greatly when its time to go home.

well, till the next time i update bah!

Comfort Food

Hi bloggie.. Vacation is here, and i am alone in the house... *wind blow*

Chew went back to small dot country and Aamir went back to India. Chrystabel decided to visit her aunt... for the weekend.. so, i'm only alone for 2 days, no worries people..

today (sat) is half gone, i think i was bitten by the sleep bug. was totally knocked out till the late morning today! so decided that my alone venture to either glendale or kotara is suspended till... tomorrow (hopefully).

nonetheless, i have things to do around the house. like laundry, watching movie, playing sims 3, cooking, web browsing for upcoming, anticipated trip, playing some more sims, and some cleaning!

The Sims 3

okay... i am a Simmer! hahaha.. i have all the sims games on PC... okay.. maybe not all, but definitely a Simmer! i was so looking forward to this game, when it was SUPPOSED to launch in Feb.. but it was decided to push back to June, coz, the programmer wants to refine, fine tune it.. so it was another painful 4 months before it was launch.. the facebook fan page didn't make the wait easier, by constantly posting videos about game.. anyway... my point is, as a Simmer, i will disappoint myself if i didn't lay my hands on the collector's edition..i absolutely love the plumbob thumbdrive, which i probably won't really used it and lay on top of my shelf back home in SG... when i get back...

and since i am alone, i have to cook food for myself. hahhaa.. i cooked my signature Kung Pao chicken, as, the recipe was already by the fridge, and i had lots of time.. and some stir fried beans (need some greens) and made congee! Comfort food for the homesick soul.

and... Hillary Swank in P.S. I Love You was brilliant! the storyline of the movie was something familiar yet in real life impossible to be carried out. in emails, we always read about this lady's husband died and send flowers to her after his death, because he meticulously planned it. in the movie, the same concept was used and boy, it is really touching. half the time, u are anticipating, what will the now dead husband has already planned and the other half, u go... aww... tt's so sweet...

I like the part where he instructed her in the letter that she shld just keep his jacket for remembrance sake and throw away the others. the symbolic gesture of rbr me, but move on with ur life made my heart melt.

oh... i forgot to mention, TRANSFORMER 2, REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, was brilliant!! i love it! =) a sequel that is as good as its precedent!

Numbers

Hi bloggie... found something in pte. something i wrote a long time ago. lol...

Out of habit
i clicked the buttons.
Out of norm
its wasn't your number.
a sense of familiarity
a feeling of differences.

i still can remember the emotion, the feeling when i wrote that.

You will smile, looking back at your tears.

exam alert! need fresh stocks of lollipops and maybe some skittles

k gtg. need fresh stocks of fruits too..

the Sony Ericsson fanatic

Hi Bloggie... it is all Jo Jo's ( my not so near neighbor in Newcastle) fault for all the phone surfing...

and i found the upcoming Sony Ericsson phone...

i am going all ga-ga over the Sony Ericsson Satio... it has NICE written all over it...

but my housemates like the Sony Ericsson Aino better..

actually i am torn between the two... the Aino has a number keypad hidden as a slider... but, the Satio has a 12.1 MP camera with Xenon Flash and Face detection. the Aino also comes with a whooping 8 Mp camera thou.... both are even better than my 6.3 Mp fujifilm camera... (which i still love, but can always do with a newer camera)...

well, it is estimated to be launch in the 4th quarter of the year in SG.. and my contract is another year to go (although i think i can change to a new phone, when i go back to SG)... and with the specs... it is not going to be cheap... hopefully, Starhub decides to reward this starhubber (my mum actually), with vouchers for being so loyal and have every possible service tied up to it..

Monthly Update

Hi bloggie... hahaha.. my blog has evolved to be updated monthly! not a good thing.. must not be so lazy!!

Got another mailer! this time round from Tan Kelvin! lol... and watched the trilogy of X Men back to back! Great satisfaction and i believe my housemates enjoyed them too! i also gotten mail from the gang, another DVD of HK drama from Ting, and a Post Card from my sis! lol...

and on the weekend, Aamir drove us to Lake Macquarie for a picnic (KFC meal), sight seeing and relaxation! the weather was beautiful and my lovely housemates really made the trip v enjoyable, by being themselves. having said that, this means lots of noisy sounds, exclamations, protest, teasing, laughing, etc.

and just not long ago, we went to Grind, one of the many coffee house in Newcastle. Despite the fact that my NY resolution last year was to drink coffee (which i did - mocha), but Au's coffee aka Mocha is still v strong. most of the time, i had hot chocolate coz i didn't want to risk having sleepless nights; although i am still awake now -time check 4.52Am! lol.

and did i mention, Lake Macquarie is Absolutely Breath-taking Beautiful!

Reporting from AU, Newcastle

hi bloggie... Been in Newcastle for 2+ Months... The Assignments, Tests, Projects are in full gear now! bought a tub of LOLLIPOPS to help me tide over! lol..

some overdue photos and updates...
Chew went for a joy ride in a train to Sydney while Bel went to Melbourne for the "Planet Shakers Conference".

Chew went first, so all of us woke up early to send her off.. but my main agenda was MacDonald Breakfast! yum yum! i love Mac Hotcakes!

besides the temporary absence of chew and bel, life in Newcastle is pretty much like....

and Dinners! we love Nandos and i have learned a couple of new dishes...

it was bowling night last night. Bowling reminds me of Siang! lol... the bowling alley was so cool! after sometimes, the main lights were off and came on with neon lights and stuff! and they had wat they call, bumper bowling! a new thing that i learn. and the day have to end with ice cream! dippin' Dots= ice cream of the future~

other than that, the temperature has been dipping here... and many nights were spend underneath the blanket, with cold fingers and toes that needs to be warmed..

天冷你就回来

hi bloggie... was studying with chew at the school benches today and was tuning to my ipod. this song came up on random

provoke lots of thots and emotion from the lyrics and the feel of the whole song.
Past, Present, Future.
Family, Friend, Love.

i think the lyrics are really well written.
妈妈眼里有明白
还有一丝无奈

your mother understand your need to fly, although reluctantly, she still let you soar
朋友的眼里有明白
还有一份期待
your friends understand your need to fly, and with expectation and excitement, they let you soar.
i think these are the nicest lines in the song.

school is getting busier. the assignment deadlines are starting to turn red! and there is so much to do.

last week, i had few surprises. one of them was...

i got a mailer! and i was so elated!

and not to mention bestie best made an effort to skype with me.. and a blog post!

ok, abrupt ending... over and out

Major Overhaul

Hi bloggie! hahahaha, being one month i came to Newcastle.. Tt's really fast. and i have more or less settled down and trying to get used to the momentum of studying, living and adapting this foreign land.

my blog was on a long hiatus and it should be back into blogging action. i hope (cross fingers)

so to summaries the period of absence, exams was underway, as it will be my last exam taking under PSB academy and because the underlying deadline of the end of the exam would mean arrangement to come over to Newcastle and the numerous farewell dinners i subsequently attended.

Hong Kong
after the exams, i flew to the Pearl of the Orient = Hong Kong. A memorable trip for me, with my childhood favourites of disney characters enchanting the place and atmosphere and not to mention the familar sights and scene that is frequently shown in the Hong Kong Drama i love. and not long after, i went to bintan for a short getaway =)

and i worked for the government once again, under Media Development Authority (MDA) and the work was enjoyable, and enriching. and working under Mdm Tan made the work even more enjoyable =) and was thankful for the job, to keep me and my pocket occupied while i took a break before coming to Au.

1E5 10 years class gathering
One of the major highlights of 2009 definitely have to be the class gathering that took place in feb. Thankful for the commitee that worked with me and definitely the attendance of those who attended on short notice. it was great to see the class that grew up together! times change, people change, but the bond will never change.

Sushi with UON classmates
and the little imps at PSB (and not so little ones [*coughs* eugene *coughs*]) gave me a farewell. was supposed to have it jointly with my classmate cum housemate TRIANNA CHEW, but she flew as aeroplane, as usual. lol. this bunch of classmates made Uni in PSB more lively than it would otherwise turn out.

and my poly classmates gather together for a catching up chalet session at East Coast Park. Unfortunately, there is no photos to be displayed here, coz i am still patiently waiting for DeDe to post them somewhere =) the meetup was great and i missed everyone, esp my proj partner, Gracia, who always went missing. Dene, who is the first among us to get a degree and went to Queensland the other time, gave me lots of advice about Au. Esp the clubbing part =.=|||

Rayne and Me
Rayne Lee, probably is one of the few people who attended the numerous farewell gathering. haha.. well, she is my Bestie Best afterall.. but a heartless one. called her last night, to ensure she is still breathing. hahaha. missed the times we chat on the phone, and this bugger rarely uses MSN.

Me; being 2 weeks since i got internet, and i have nv see u online
R: aiya, i will online de
Me: 2 weeks will turn into 1 month, which will turn into 6 months and then a year, and i am back.
R: ...
hahaha.. ok moving on (Rayne, if u are reading this, u know wat u need to do.)

WineHut
and one of my fav place was visited for my farewell, and it is WineHut. I love this place. Jas was there to help us with the wine, and it was Karen's first visit. hahaha.. hope she liked it too! =) the evening was wonderful, with, Jas, Kel, Siang and me chilling at Yello Jello Bar after the wine. Kel Daddy loses too much in the finger guessing game, that he goes a lil tipsy (Opps!) lol. Kel and Siang is also the another 2 who attend so many farewell gathering with me. hahaha. as if they are coming along with me.
Manchester United Cafe Bar
like i said, Siang and Kel attend so many gathering. the gathering with Wu Meiyi and Jen was at the cafe that uses the World Greatest Club's Name = Manchester United. Lol. Love the ambience and the fact that Manchester United is the LOGO of the place! lol. thank u gals for meeting me before i fly.
Dinner with the Bosses
one of my last gathering was with my various bosses at GV. lol. Vanny, Kristin, Amber, Christina Jiang and Jeslyn ( who we just went to Vivo to take photo with her). lol. different boss, different Era, common bond. =D thank u all for attending!
University of Newcastle.
and when i flew to Newcastle, this is the reason why. where i have to undertake 5 modules this sem =( the campus is like a school in the forest. hahaha. something i thot was quite nice.

and with school, these are unavoidable.

Housemates with Joanna!
the pace at Australia is slow, compared to Singapore, and the activities to do at night is so limited, that most of the days we spend it at home. but some nights, we will be out, to the beach or the harbour. and the drinks are cheap but don't worry people, i know i am here to study, not drink!

Australian Reptile Park
and just last week, Aamir drove us to the reptile park, that Chubby got kissed by a Gecko and have a snake around her shoulder. the reptile park visit was great! i see Taz Devils and Koala and i like how Mike the presenter when he present the various shows and animals.

nando's
after the reptile park, we went to Nando's and grab our favourite Peri Peri Grilled Chicken and a group photo of my housemates and me.

kk, a long enough post!

update~ in school

hi bloggie. Yes its real. Yes i updated! lol...

hope everyone is fine. school is ok, except for the fact of doing 5 courses this sem, and how heavily i will be in debt after school. money factors are making me doubt if i made the right choice, and there's no turning back. kind of suck, in this way. well, heard alot about how money can be earned and stuff, but it is just not that easy

k, didn't mean to make this post sound so depressing. life in AU is not that bad. but, can be quite ex, esp the rent for house. and the food here are mainly fast food, coz of the area i live in, doesn't have much eatery. they dun realli have hawker centre or coffeshop that is common in singapore. mainly bread, pasta or pizza diet for them. so, cooking most dinners at home. =) i can cook!
Eagle Boys! PSB~ UON peeps, dunno if u rbr this "brand"! lol.. from our case study. all the things learn in textbooks are forming to look alot more real now. lol. and Woolsworth( wool~lys).

well. update is ending soon. missing home

peek-a-boo

hi bloggie... long absense from me, and i'm not gonna update soon. just a short note to announce my status of being alive. when i feel like declaring this absense to be over, i'll be back.
