KL

Hi Bloggie, its September 2013 - 8 months of an awesome year have passed, and i am left with less than 4 months of this wholesome year.

As many of my friends commented how 2013 seems to be a great year for me, I am just keeping it simple and attributes to luck is seasonal and this year is a good season.

2013 is the year that i made more new friends and discovering more about slightly older friends. Just over the weekend, in an attempt to keep in touch with my new 2013 friends, i made a trip to KL to meet up with Teoh [KL]and Jiyoung (Jocelyn) [Seoul].

The funny thing is, when I was in Seoul, where I first met Jiyoung unnie, I thot she look like Hie Tien (shall henceforth be known as HT). Mannerism and reactions are so alike, I know this 2 ladies should meet. So I got HT to tag along.

So the whole trip is to be summarised: CRAZY FUN!

Instax for instant Photo

Facebook Album - Crazy Fun 2D1N KL Trip

The fun part is easy to define. It was every part of funny that I expected and so much more. The 2 long lost sisters seem to be in sync with their funny bones and were constantly in stitches with laughing. Teoh and I were perplexed with their funny trigger points. Alone time with HT is also hilarious! I have now seen her in a new light. She have her own unique brand of humor which is really gold (but in a twisted way). I kept getting surprised by her and her imaginative brain.

And there is crazy part! I have never took an 8 Hour bus ride just to get to KL. And then the rain. and then our misadventure of almost missing our flight and the subsequent flight delay.

I am thankful for the small things in life that motivates me for the bigger things.

Sherlock

Hi Bloggie... haven't been writing in a long time. Well, not that dedicated after twitter, facebook and instagram came along. still, it had been nearly 10 years since blogging started and i do visit time to time, drop a post or two, but mainly, to read about any teenage misdemeanor I might used to have or cherished memories that needs no ignitation.

anyway, recently since i last blogged, i had quite an adventure. June 2013, was by far the most "happening month" i have experienced thus far.

along the way, i got a new shiny camera, friends from different parts of the world and experience a country that i never thot i would have. it had been near to 2 months now since the wondrous experience and i missed it so much. I am thankful for all the facebook and instagram that we have to keep us in touch; for my friends of a 4 days 3 night event is hopefully friends i get to keep in touch for the rest of my life.

but no one can keep friends for life if the other party is not willing? it says it takes two hands to clap. most of the time, people detest from being the first hand to reach out. simply for the sake of being afraid the same is not reciprocate. however, i always feel being the 2nd one to respond is the one in a more stressful situation.

while being the first hand to reach out requires courage, the 2nd hand responding entails responsibility. For any non-motion, the first hand can "presume" the 2nd hand is not interested. Any half hearted motion by the 2nd hand, more often than not, leads to the same conclusion of the former. especially, if there is repeated demand of action from the first hand, and the lack of response of the 2nd, tends to lead to deterioration of a friendship. but it is also said, true friends require no words, no action, just faith. so what encompass being a true friend?

anyway, just some sudden thots provoking moments i get from watching drama! My latest drama fix was centered against Sherlock Holmes and his strange but wonderful friendship with Dr. Watson. Be it the Sherlock from UK (BBC) or Elementary from US (loosely adapted), it is not just the deduction that kept me glued, but also the friendship that sparks between the 2 main character and definitely the unwavering support and understanding between them. Which in reality, is something that we all crave.

So, are you gonna be the first hand or the 2nd?

PS: what happens when both hands stop clapping?

Murphy's Law

Hi Bloggie,

Today feels like the day where things will go wrong on its own.
Had an ultra long weekend since last Thu. I took part in a brain research, out of curiosity and I got to see my own brain scans. Also visited Sandy @ SGH. The poor gal suffered gallstones but her latest update is she's on the road of recovery!  It was good to catch up with her, but I hope our next catchup is over coffee. Then it was dinner @ Chilis with Reagan.  He's back for a short while before heading back to Brazil for the next 6 months.  It was good to see him and hear his interesting stories.

My Brain!
Brunch on Vesak Day @ Canopy - Ang Mo Kio Bishan Park.  Eggs Royal for me!  The hollandaise sauce goes so well with the poached eggs.... And smoked Salmon. I love poached eggs cause I think it is harder to get it right then scrambled or sunny sides up.
Eggs Royale @ Canopy
Then next 2 days of the weekend was mindlessly playing with my sims, watching my drama and even a day og  mahjong with my mom's kakis.

*Poof* it's dreary Monday where things feel like going south.  Being the only accounts person meant emails are not responded and angry creditors waiting for money.  It was a hectic morning clearing emails. checking receipts and dealing with internal people. And the day feels like a constant downhill. I hope I can get thru the day,  safe and sound.

Blogger app on android

Hi Bloggie!
Today I am blogging from my Samsung S3.  FINALLY an android app - official from Google is available.
Years ago,  when I got my first Android phone,  HTC Desire,  I always wanted to be able to blog on the move  the app then wasn't that brilliant.  Today using the official app,  which is working fine thus far,  is something worth a small Woohoo!
More trials need to be tested to be sure that this as gets to stay and blogging to be resumed more regularly.
Till the next,  enjoy my boredom creation =)  (photo of standing coins)

KL/Genting, Itunes Store

Hi Bloggie, recently came back from KL/ Genting, with my mother and her old academy friends. Yes, I went on an "Aunties" Trip! lol. It was quite fun in a way, seeing my mum interact with her friends, who are aunties that watched me grow up and mothers of my childhood friends.

It was shopping, walking, eating and gambling! Although I don't have much luck this year and lose my mum winnings. =(

Discovered a new place while in KL - Crab Island!

Crab Among the Prawn
So we set off to Pulau Ketam - Crab Island. It involve a 1 hour train ride and 30 min ferry ride. After discovering the place, we realise it is nearer to Klang then KL. Upon reaching Pulau Ketam, we were greeted by dried prawns along the jetty side. From afar, it looks like red sands covering the pier. I was reminded of Kukup, looking at the homestay and houses on stilts.

Crabs!
Of course, crabs are a must have at Pulau Ketam. The seafood sold at one of the numerous seafood places are very fresh and economical. Just 180 RM for the 8 of us and there were 8 dishes, including prawns, crabs, fish. Yum!

The Colourful Aunties
A short exploration walk and we head back to the busy city. The Aunties were deck out in very vivid color as above! LOL.

Itunes Store
2 days ago, Apple Inc. announced 12 more countries are able to shop at their iTunes store for music and movies. Singapore was one of them. FINALLY! The ease of getting legal music is so much easier now. Was exploring the store and found a dedicated category for Kpop...
Kpop
2 years ago, i foray into Korean music, thanks to the Goguma Couple, introduced by Ting. Never looked back since. My weekly shows include the ever popular Running Man and Invincible Youth, and not to mention any shows that the 9 girls are in.

River Rafting and Food Trip - IPOH!

Hi Bloggie, went to Ipoh 3rd time in my life and doing river rafting the 1st time in my life! It was AWESOME! I am glad I did it, and will definitely be doing it again! LOL!

The whole objective for Ipoh was River Rafting. So the conceptualization and planning happen a few months ago. Siew did the activities research, I look for the roof over our heads and See Hui did transportation. It was supposed to be a Girls' Trip with the 3 of us plus Avenlin (See Hui's Sis). But newlywed See Hui's Hubby was worried for us and so he tagged along, which is good, as it is safer with a guy with us (and definitely more handy).

Originally, it was either by Air or by Land (Coach) to Ipoh. But Flying was too expensive and Coaching have undesirable timing. In came the Knight in shinning amour, Jun Yan (See Hui's Hubby), and he drove us there. I guess it was a good experience for him too, first time driving such long distance and See Hui/Me nagging at him about speed!

Osbourne Homestay & Apartment
But we all reach Ipoh safely and it was slightly after 1pm when we reached. Checked in at Osbourne Homestay & Apartment. We were lazing around and letting Jun Yan to have some shut eye! We were all complaining about this dark picture above, taken by Jun Yan. Haha!

RiverBug, Recommended Choice!
The next day was "ACTIVITIES DAY"! RiverBug, well known in Ipoh and Sabah, is our recommended choice. We did cave exploration and river rafting, break in between activities for lunch! I did the same cave exploration 9 years ago! Then, we did the dry path, looking at limestone formation and wet path, where we have to duck walk and crawl and navigate thru the low ceiling. The limestone stalagmites and stalactites grew, about 2 inches a year. So instead of duck walk, it became commando crawl for most part of the wet path out! Jun Yan and I were envy of See Hui's height for once. As we were prone to knocks at our head due to our height! Thankful for helmets, something that wasn't there, 9 years ago.

River Rafters!
After we completed the cave, we break for lunch! Lunch was good, and satisfying. We were beside the river and were watching some teams completing their river rafting! Every rafters drift by us, were given a big smile and huge wave from us!

Best River Rafting Instructor - Andie!
Then it was our turn. Our cave exploration guide was Andie. He was also our river rafting instructor! Humorous and spontaneous, he made our river rafting experience, very fun and enjoyable. Impromptu acts from him include dragging Avenlin down to the water; crashing us to a stone behind us while making us do high five. But he did get revenge from us by dunking him into the water after our photo with him!

Rice Wine from Sabah!
Tea was served after we washed up. The host from RiverBug was nice enough to treat us Rice Wine, all the way from Sabah. For non alcoholic drinker like See Hui to claim it was nice, you can imagine how much I like it!

Ipoh Hor Fun and Bean Sprouts
Of course, when you are in Ipoh, you have to have their local dishes! Ipoh Hor Fun, with beansprouts and yellow chicken are a must have. And there were also other local pastries that like Hiong Piah, that people will buy when they visit ipoh.

Pomelo!
Pomelo are also a must have when you are in Ipoh! Sweet, Juicy, absolutely heavenly!

Singapore Zoological Garden

Hi Bloggie, whenever i think of Singapore Zoo, I will think of the advert tune:

We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...
How bout you, you, you...
You can come too, too, too...
We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...

Too bad, I couldn't find the original advertisement that was screen in my childhood days. Anyway, it was a birthday treat for Siyi and me, and we had so much fun.

The Attendees!
I became the unofficial guide for the trip (as per always). I missed visiting the Zoo. Some changes occurred, but i guess change is good. More extensive changes are on going to accommodate the upcoming new guest of the Zoo, China Panda!

To the Ferry (Look at the Siyi and Siew at the back)
There is now a ferry service that brings you back nearer to the entrance of the zoo from mid point. On board the ferry that strolls along Seletar Reservoir. Enjoying the breeze on board the ferry is enjoyable, especially on a hot humid day.

Panoramic Shot (On Board Ferry)
Lastly, I saw one of my favorite animal, the Tiger! Can't be helped that it coincide with my Zodiac sign!
The Ferocious Tiger

Once Upon a Time

Hi Bloggie, today I met Vanny for lunch. It is so good to meet up with her, although she "complained" that our meet up makes her feel "old and sudden realisation of past time".  LOL. I am always grateful that our connection remains after we both left the beloved and precious place, and evolve from Superior to Friends relationship. It was from her that I learn, "以德服人" and I will always remember this teaching.

Credits: ABC, Disney

Just finished season 1 of Once Upon a Time. The neat reference to childhood familiarities of fairytale is what attracted me. The variation of the characters against the original reference is what kept my attention. As I grow older, different variation of childhood fairytale presents itself. From Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland....
Credits: Disney Pictures

to Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Wizard of Oz.

Haha, guess one can't say they truly know their childhood favorites. And definitely, "Don't Judge a Book by its Cover!"

Updates and USS

Hi Bloggie! its been so long that i can't get used to writing an entry!

Hmm, so much happens for the past 6 months. I found and lost a job... a dear friend finally forgave me a lil for a terrible mistake i made a while ago. been to weddings and birthdays celebrations. having precious memories with close friends while some drifted slowly away. can only feel.. time really waits for no one...

2012 was predicted to be a "bad" year for the Tiger babies.. well, i guess there is some truth, with my career path still murky in the shallow water! Not to mention, no windfall for CNY gambling this year, or any time of the year, YET!

Well, this entry wasn't suppose to be gloomy.. and I did have so much fun couple of days ago...

Gang (Less 1) @ Shangri-Le Rasa Sentosa

With better spending power, we find ourselves in hotel rooms instead of chalets! Thankful to JY and her xiao didi (Can't resist calling him that!), we got a good deal and age caught up with us by retiring to bed as early as 1 am (for me! Sorry Peh!).

It was a good night with drinks and endless laughter. Everyone was really quick and the 2 boys are always at the receiving end (this time literally, with drinks)!

 Gang with Oscar (the Grouch)!

This is one of my fav photo! I guess we looked so young and happy in it! I am so proud of the girls who braved the Cylon Ride (aka Blue Roller Coaster, or according to TPL: WTF!)
Scrolling the pictures, i still think we didn't take enough photos. I guess the weather was not accommodating and everyone is slightly discouraged to take more photos. I think everyone brought home lots of memories and for me, I am really glad things work out well, and everyone making the effort is the greatest memories of all.
After so many years of blog (with long absence in these 2 years), I guess I still can't conjure a good way to end a post. LOL! Well, think its back to my shows. =D

Passionately Walking/ USS Horror Nights

Dear Bloggie, it has been a long long time since I blogged. Life is now on relaxation pace after I left Nexia TS. Besides catching up on lost sleep (can't believe how sleep deprived I was) and catching up on people's relations, I was catching up on my drama.

I guess, it was the tension that kept me going when I was at Nexia, and now that I left, I got on the pace of Australia!

Meeting up with friends and going for family dinners are blessings =D. I liked the night at Breko, with so many fun jokes and laughter. The Gang is always a group that I am glad that they crossed my path and remain there. Thinking back on how juvenile we were, when we whine and complain and throw tantrum when everyone cannot meet; now, we are happy that we can attend (besides the open secret of being gossip for absentees).

29 October was a fun day for me. Passionate~ly Walk~ing with JY, Ting, Cyn and Audrey was hilarious. and of cause the beautiful skyline of Singapore's expensive stretch by the Singapore River.

Muliple Hands - JY!
The River that Brings us Life - Home, Kit Chan
Too bad our adventure had to be cut short as me and the 2 Ung Sisters have to proceed to the Night of Horrors!!!! (input thunderstorm and scary laughter).
We proceeded to Sentosa USS for the fright of our lives! We met up with the Tee Sisters (See Hui and See Yee), Siew and Siyi! I was exceptionally delighted with the thoughts of rides -  up the top with the Battlestar Galatica - Human and Cyclops! and I wasn't disappointed by it. The thrill pushes my adrenaline so high, i only manage to catch my sleep 9 in the Morning!
The haunted house of the Perankan Matriarch was absolutely stunning (in a frightful way). I have to physically cover and push the Tee Sisters to make them move along the trail.
We finally understood why people were laughing when they exited the trail, it was a sense of relieve and laughing of silliness of getting intimidated by dressed up humans. I am impressed with the make up and effects of USS Horror Nights and I will definitely be there next year.

Starving Zombies
See Yee, Zombie, Siyi
Waiting to be scared by the Perankan(s)
The Ung Sisters and Me (Audrey is ALWAYS at the receiving end of my jokes and pranks)
Wannabe Ghost 1

Failed Wannabe Ghost 2

Indiana Jones (Failed Wannabe Ghost 3)
The waiting in line was tiring and aching (for the leg) but i guess we enjoyed the night a lot. If the climate wasn't as humid, I guess it would be perfect. For me, I liked the haunted house a lot and i was thinking where i got my guts from, considering i have absolute disliked for horror movies.Throughout the evening, i was either saying good job to the ghost, or laughing my heads off.

It is an enjoyable break for me. and now, i am ready to plunge into the working world again. so any job recommendation please let me know!

lone ranger

Hi bloggie.... the team has fallen, the sinking ship is in half and I am on planks.

Sometimes I don't understand myself. Y do I have to be so "mature" and keep everything afloat. Y do I always the youngest have to think for the others. Can't I be a person who just concentrate on her own things and dun care if other drown.

But I was taught that a team work together, thru thick and thin. I am tired being the center, yet, I held on to the faith that things will get better.
I wish things are not as complicated as they were. Where times were simpler.

I think maybe I too need a change.

one year anniversary (sequel)

Hi bloggie... today my immediate boss asked me, if i got letter for him, better inform him earlier! lol. when i told the gang, yen's reply was " he trying to use ji jiang fa'. deep down, i also think so.

i got a letter today. lol. for my bonus! frankly speaking, i expected more for my increment, but, the bonus was not too bad. i won't say it is a lot, but given my pay rank, it is comfortable. hahaha, and had the opportunity to talk to big boss. i am very appreciative of his recognition. like Senior said, his views are valuable. he mentioned putting in good words for me, and i am very thankful. the things he said, did shows true making of a leader.

today, i sort of got an answer or hint to my question of leaving or staying. but, maybe i am greedy. i really hope to continue learning from Senior, at least, till i can really fly. today, Senior told me something, which i am happy to hear (although i didn't show it). thank you for letting me go slow, standing tall and stand by me. advice is heard and processed.

today, i incline to a decision, but i guess this is all due to circumstantial factors. thus, the question will still stand. at least, i know if the end is nearing, it will be 3 months away.

1 year anniversary

Hi bloggie, today marks the 1 year mark of my audit career.

Time really flies after 18. Lol. I was asked a lot these few days, 'are u leaving or staying?', 'wat are ur plans?', etc... truth to say, I am undecided. As much as a 'workaholic' I am, I enjoy the experience and exposure this job gives, but on the other hand, the time spent is really not worthwhile.

But I am appreciative of wat the year brought. Getting fren in a place I nv thot I would have. Getting guidance far better than the start. But, all in all, I cannot make up wat I want.

Mentally, I can hear myself torn, half of it say, I can do it, at least for 1 more year. The other half is, stop all this madness. Lol. I guess Vivian was right, auditors are crazy.

Hi bloggie, I wanna be a kid again!!!

It was nostalgic to play old school board games. Lol.2 weeks ago, my Lil cousin took this timeless classic games out from storage and made me play games with her.

The Lil one, however is not well versed in the rules of the game is just following blindly with me in the games.

Lol. We proceeded to jenga after. Lol. Guess playing with a kid is the closet thing to being a kid again.

CNY with a bang

Hi bloggie... had an awesome cny open house yesterday.

I think age is a funny thing. Like fren who I knew since young, maybe I dunno them that well. But if we do meet, we can create laughter that is compared to none. When we were in our teens, we strangely dun interact as much as now. I think the awkward age then plays a big role.

Now, everyone cruising uni and work, able to say been there, done that, I think somehow made everyone v at ease in sharing stupid jokes and quick witted comeback.

For the above, I love CNY. May more to come!!!!

working overseas

Hi bloggie... back home from changsha again.1month away for work is tiring. But my physical fatigues shld be due to 5 hrs of sleep in the past 48 hours.

My senior first line to me when we alight from the plane..."how is Singapore air" lol. I was "complaining" to my manager that I wanna go home.. I also didn't hide my delight today that I am coming back.

The most used word during this trip is "cold". Like my big boss said, at least u get to see and feel how white Xmas should feel like.

The biggest boss of my comp joined us last night for dinner with the client, as a protocol thingy. Had awesome meal but was so drained that I didn't enjoy the food much. And throwing in alcohol, I was completely sapped of energy when we retreat back to the hotel.

Will do some shut eye now.
